Al Ain Zoo Announces Action-packed Entertainment Programmes For Eid Al Adha
(13 October 2013)
Exciting African, Asian And Middle Eastern Dance Performances

Al Ain Zoo will extend its hours on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, welcoming visitors to experience an exciting array of performances and activities to celebrate the holiday. The extended hours will allow holiday-goers of all ages the chance to interact first-hand with the zoo’s newborns and new animals, as well as to enjoy the festivities that make Al Ain a premier destination for Eid Al Adha.

Visitors can enjoy these events during the zoo’s extended hours, open from 10am to 10pm, from 15 to 19 October. The holiday is the ideal time for visitors to experience the zoo, with the animals growing increasingly interactive as the weather cools. Regular opening hours from 9am to 8pm will resume after the Eid holidays on 20 October.

Guests can photograph the zoo’s recently-announced newborn giraffe and hippopotamus, who have just moved to public display, as well as take in an array of cultural and educational activities. In addition to African, Asian and Middle Eastern dance performances to pay homage to the diverse cultures that its animals hail from, the zoo will also be inviting guests to participate in a community drumming activity, hosting performances of the bird and parrot show, and – for the very first time – allowing visitors the thrill of watching crocodiles being fed by their trainers. A festive atmosphere awaits visitors at the main entrance, where families can enjoy meet and greets with their favourite zoo characters and indulge in the Ahlan VIP service for the full and exclusive Al Ain Zoo experience.

The return of autumn has seen numerous additions and developments within the Al Ain Zoo family, including the Cat House exhibit, which includes lions, tigers and cheetahs. Each of the animals can be witnessed in exhibits that mimic the species’ natural environments, reflecting the zoo commitment to further enhance visitor experiences. The all-new Children’s Zoo is also now complete, designed to encourage young guests to interact more with animals, and children can enjoy the latest activities in the new Family Zone area.

Al Ain Zoo recently introduced refurbished facilities and attractions specifically aimed at enhancing visitor experiences and cementing the zoo’s position as a leading family destination for its cultural, entertainment, and educational offering. The zoo welcomes visitors to experience the diversity of wildlife, kicking off the cooler weather with an exciting entertainment programme that promises an unforgettable experience for all ages. For those with an appetite, Al Ain Zoo offers an array of choices for refreshments and a light bite in the new Flamingino Café or alternatively visitors can opt for the picnic tables to keep a closer eye on the animals. Guests are encouraged to purchase Eid tickets in advance at the zoo’s ticket windows to ensure direct entrance to the zoo and to avoid long queues.

Al Ain Zoo is located on the UAE-Oman border and is a short drive from UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah and minutes away from Buraimi city in Oman. Al Ain Zoo is one of the city’s leading attractions. Visitors can also venture to the Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum, the former palace of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which tells the UAE’s cultural story prior to its dramatic development and Jabel Hafeet which rises at 1245 meters with enchanting views of the city in addition to Al Jahili Fort, Al Ain National Museum and other tourist destinations.
