At Gitex 2013,12 Abu Dhabi government entities will come together to display their services on a combined standhosted by Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC).
ADSIC, the government entity in charge of Abu Dhabi’s ICT agenda, revealed today its plans for showcasing the Emirate’s futuristic e-services and solutions at the upcoming event to be held 20-24 October at Dubai World Trade Centre. The presence of Abu Dhabi’s e-government services this year includes a single stand of 350 square meters, which is six times bigger than the previous year.
Commenting on Abu Dhabi e-government’s participation, H.E. RashedLahejAl-Mansoori, Director General at ADSIC, said, “Integration of e-government services is vital in transforming public services. Our participation under a single umbrella is a result of Abu Dhabi government’s commitment to integrate on all levels in order to improve the quality of how we interact with our citizens, residents and businesses.GITEX is the region’s leading IT event and therefore, is an ideal platform for us to display as well as promote Abu Dhabi e-government to the people of the Emirate.”
Al-Mansoorihighlighted that Abu Dhabi’s recently launched CityGuard mobile app is a fine example of a user-centric mobile app that provides efficient services to the public by leveraging integration between different e-Government platforms to provide efficient public services.
“Our participation at GITEX will be marked with interactive demos and launch of other beneficial, user-friendly mobile apps and services”, he added.
On layout of the stand, H.E. Al-Mansoori said, “This is only the second year of our participation at GITEX and we are proud to have increased our presence six times over last year. It distinctly provides visibility to each of the government entities and e-services. The stand has been creatively designed to encapsulate Abu Dhabi Government’s brand values of unity, integrity, wisdom and strength, while offering our visitors an interactive and dynamic experience through innovative formats.”
Participating government entities include Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) including Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM), Al Ain Municipality and Western Region Municipality; Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA); Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED); Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (ADTCA); Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD); Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC); Statistics Centre- Abu Dhabi (SCAD); Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC).
Visitors on the stand will also get the chance to learn about ADSIC’s key initiatives including Abu Dhabi Government Contact Centre (800 555), e-Citizen Program,Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure, Abu Dhabi Portal (www.abudhabi.ae),CityGuard Application and Jobs Abu Dhabi (www.jobsabudhabi.ae).
