BurjeelHospital, Abu Dhabi’s premier private healthcare facility, hosted today H.E. Carlo Calenda, Italian Deputy Minister of Economic Development and H.E. Giorgio Starace, Italy’s Ambassador to the UAE and 57 Italian delegates including the Italian press who areon a visit to the capital to meet withkey decision makers in a bid to solidify business ties with the Emirate’s healthcare industry.
On a tour of the hospital, Dr. ShamsheerVayalil, Managing Director of Burjeel Hospital, highlighted the promising business opportunities available for Italian companies within Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s fast-growing health care sector.
According to a Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD)report in 2010, Abu Dhabi population is expected to double by 2030, requiring up to 20 new medium-to-large hospitals and 23 clinics and therefore creating immense business opportunities for any healthcare manufacturer, dealer or distributor. Earlier this year, HAAD forecasted that Abu Dhabi’s health care sector is poised to grow to Dh12bn in 2013.
