Yas Island, the GCC’s favorite tourist destination, has partnered with Expedia in order to promote Yas Island’s activities and offerings and to position it as the region’s prime leisure and entertainment destination for local and international travelers, on one consolidated platform.
The six-month campaign on Expedia.com that targets the wider GCC and US markets and Expedia.co.uk, which covers the greater UK market, launched on 30 September 2013.
The promotion will be aimed at people who are looking to travel to the UAE for the first time and also re-target those who have been searching for holiday options in the UAE, but haven’t finalized their booking.
Commenting on the digital campaign, Karim El Guanaini, Vice President of Yas Island Destination Management, said: “Expedia provides a great platform to reach out to prospective travelers and we look forward to reaching out to a wider audience around the world who have shown an interest in visiting the UAE. The "online booking market" has become a vital component of today’s travel industry dynamics and through this platform we will be able to showcase more attraction options which will encourage travelers to make the UAE their destination of choice.”
As part of the campaign, Expedia will host the first Destination Activities Store of its kind, the Yas Island Abu Dhabi Store, where online users will be able to learn more about the offerings, attractions, events and entertainment on Yas Island. Users can book their stay at any of the Yas Island hotels, book their tickets to; Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterwold, Seawings, F1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and any of the events taking place on Yas Island.
The platform also provides discovery sections to learn more about Yas Links Golf Course, Captain Tony & Azure Charters from the Yas Marina, Stars ‘n’ Bars Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina Circuit’s karting, driving school and Formula 1 experiences.
“We strive to take innovative approaches to promote and sell our destination and the UAE as a leading tourist destination and the following six months will be the perfect time to do so as the pleasant weather around this time of the year makes it a paradise destination. Yas Island will boast several activities that tourists can enjoy, and other activities across the Emirates will also lure those who wish to explore the great culture and heritage of the UAE,” concluded El Guanaini.
Expedia will also be promoting Yas Island’s campaign on their social media platforms where followers can participate in competitions to win a holiday for two people to the UAE which will include a two night stay at the Arabian Nights Village, a four night stay at Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, two tickets to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and two tickets to Yas Waterworld.
