Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has urged the Policies and Strategies Council at the ministry, to achieve global competitiveness in upgrading police services provided to the public, and to adopt the appropriate ideas and proposals consistent with the smart government’s policy. He also called for embracing the development and modernization approach followed by the government, under the wise stewardship of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and their brethren Their Highnesses, Supreme Council Members and rulers of the Emirates; to maintain the prosperity, security and decent life taking place in the country.
The Policies and Strategies Council at the Ministry of Interior had held its second meeting for 2013, headed by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan , Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on Tuesday afternoon, in Union Hall at the ministry.
The Council tackled a number of topics pertaining to the development of police work to the highest levels, notably the Global Competitiveness Report submitted by Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
He also reviewed the study results to identify the degree of the sense of safety and security submitted by Dr Mohammed Murad Abdullah, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for the research and decision-making support centers at the Ministry of Interior.
Present at the meeting were Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police; Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director - General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, police commanders and directors-general in the state.
