In a ceremony held on Monday, at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior inspected the first civil air ambulance helicopter for emergency rescue operations from onshore and offshore oilfields and facilities in Abu Dhabi. It is noteworthy that this utility helicopter, the Bell 412 EP for Enhanced Performance, is the first of its kind in the UAE, and is fitted with cutting edge medical equipment.
The Bell 412 EP crew briefed His Highness on the helicopter’s specifications and functions; as well as the services it will provide to cater to all workers of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields in the emirate as of October 2013.
“The helicopter’s medical and logistics team includes skilled medical attendants highly qualified to deal with crises and emergency situations. The helicopter itself was manufactured as per the highest international safety standards, and was equipped particularly for ADMA-OPCO and all onshore and offshore ADNOC affiliated companies,” indicated the helicopter crew.
His Highness underscored the keenness of the higher leadership to provide the best services, as per international-best standards, through effective cooperation between all entities. Furthermore, he lauded cooperation between governmental and semi-government institutions to achieve the strategic objectives for the benefit of the public.
His Highness stressed the importance of this strategic feat, as part of the governmental partnership between the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ represented by the National Ambulance Company, and both the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi and ADNOC group of companies (ADMA-OPCO).
Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended the inauguration ceremony, along with a large number of dignitaries, namely; Major General Khalil DawoodBadran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Dr. Maha TaysirBarakat, Director General of the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi. Also present at the ceremony, Ali Rashid Al Jarwan CEO of ADMA-OPCO; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mazroui, General Manager of the Abu Dhabi Aviation Company; Ahmed Saqr Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the NDC; Ali Al Mazroui, Deputy CEO of ADMA-OPCO; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Director General of The Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police, Chairman of the National Ambulance Company Board of Directors.
For his part, the Chairman of the National Ambulance Company Board of Directors stressed the importance of leveraging partnerships to achieve the strategic goals, and provide advanced and distinguished medical and ambulance services. Furthermore, he underscored the keenness of both the Emergency and Public Safety Department and the National Ambulance Company to observe the issued directives, so as to achieve the vision of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in this regard.
