The Ministry of Interior discussed with the Federal Customs Authority ways to boost mutual cooperation and collaboration in their respective areas of jurisdiction. This took place during a meeting of the Higher Joint Committee, held this morning, Monday, at Al Ittihad Hall at the Ministry of Interior.
The meeting was chaired by Lt. Genera Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior. It comes in line with the ongoing cooperation and mutual collaboration to combat illegal commercial and customs practices, between the Ministry of Interior, the Federal Customs Authority and the local customs, being the ministry’s main partners in this regard.
The meeting addressed a number of topics listed on the agenda, and ways of mutual cooperation and collaboration between the two parties, namely; cooperation in managing customs risks; exchanging information and statistics; strategic planning; and exchanging expertise via training courses and institutional excellence.
The meeting was attended by Major General Humaid Al Hadidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police; Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Deputy Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police; a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior and police GHQs across the country; and representatives of the Federal Customs Authority and the Customs Departments at the countrywide level.
