Facilitating Abu Dhabi’s Emiratisation efforts and providing a broader window of opportunities for UAE’s job seekers, Jobs Abu Dhabi portal (www.jobsabudhabi.ae), announced today its collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council (ADTC).
Speaking at the 5th Annual Emiratisation Forum held in Abu Dhabi from 30 September – 1 October, Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) Project Manager - Dr. Ahmed Al Hashimi revealed details of the partnership in presence of a large audience comprising government and private entities.
Jobs Abu Dhabi portal (JAD) is Abu Dhabi’s leading job search engine and portal that can be used by jobseekers around the world to connect with employers from the Emirate’s government and private sectors. Launched in 2008 by ADSIC, it has over 400,000 registered local, regional and global candidates with more than 870 entities from the Emirate’s government and private organisations, including the office of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
“Leveraging on the success of Jobs Abu Dhabi portal”, said Dr. Al Hashimi during his presentation, “ADSIC has collaborated with ADTC to boost the Emiratisation efforts of the government. The partnership allows Emirati job seekers registered on www.tawteencouncil.ae to be connected with employers registered on www.jobsabudhabi.ae. The partnership is an extension of our virtual platform that not only helps employers source qualified Emirati candidates but also serves local talent to apply for positions in the UAE and abroad.”
As a result of the collaboration, job seekers registered on ADTC website will be able to view job postings on Jobs Abu Dhabi portal as well as submit their job application without having to register separately on the Jobs Abu Dhabi portal. ADTC will get notified in case an application made for a job posted on Jobs Abu Dhabi gets viewed by an interested employer.
Highlighting the initiatives made towards encouraging adoption of e-government services by Emiratis, Al Hashimi mentioned the e-citizen project implemented by Jobs Abu Dhabi. E-citizen is an online education course launched in collaboration with ADSIC and other public and private entities, aimed towards training Abu Dhabi’s citizens on computer applications and the use of the latest technology, including Internet and e-services.
In conclusion, Al Hashimi said that the focus for Jobs Abu Dhabi portal in 2013 is mainly to launch initiatives to enhance services for government entities. Another key initiative in the pipeline is the new mobile app for Jobs Abu Dhabi users.
