Sky Management, the team behind the successful SKYBAR Beirut and SKYBAR at the Du Forum after-parties, announces that its Grand Opening weekend is set on the 31st of October until the 3rd of November in time for the 2013 F1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix. Following this, O1NE Yas Island is only open every Thursday to accommodate up to 1,000 club goers at a single time.
“We are delighted with the response and support we got from the Yas Island management when we proposed this project. Both our teams share the same goal of making O1NE Yas Island a breakthrough in Abu Dhabi’s nightlife scene. We are all geared up to make it the best of its kind in the city, the country and the world,” remarks Chafic el Khazen, Chief Executive Officer of Sky Management.
O1NE Yas Island features the world’s largest privately owned graffiti wall on the outside and a 360-degree 3D projection mapping on the inside that can transport guests from St. Tropez to outer space on every visit. These, among many other elements, make O1NE Yas Island an artistic and technological landmark in the country.
19 of the world’s best graffiti artists have been working on O1NE Yas Island for the last two weeks, with 30 personnel to help them have full access to the outer walls of the 18meter high, 3,000sqm facade. They are Karski (Netherlands), Bonzai (UK), Nase (Netherlands, based in Argentina), Telmo (Netherlands), Miel (Netherlands), the duo SWK (Brazil), Beyond (Netherlands), Mr Dheo (Portugal), Mr Wany (Italy), Nash (Netherlands), Does (Netherlands), Koan (Spain), Treze (Spain), Satone (Germany), Case (Germany), Roids (UK), Tasso (Germany) and Zedz (Netherlands).
“We were asked to create something that reflects what O1NE Yas Island is all about. It’s not easy to work together in the beginning given the artists’ individual personalities and style. But later on, this was used to our advantage so that each part of this wall reflects our identities seen as one,” explains Roy known as “Karski”, Art Director.
Designed by Sari el Khazen Architects, O1NE Yas Island emulates a coliseum and has an 18meter high ceiling. “The architecture and interiors are made to complement the technology and bring it to life,” says Sari el Khazen.
O1NE Yas Island is only among the first of the many nightclubs and restaurants to be opened by Sky Management around the region. With seven successful years of entertaining Lebanon and the world with SKYBAR Beirut and other large-scale events, Sky Management’s venues will continue to live up to the unmatched entertainment standards this leading hospitality management firm is famous for.
