The Education Department at the Directorate General of Human Resources in Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of an introductory training course for police cadets awarded scholarships to study in France, in cooperation with the International Cooperation Department of the French Ministry of Interior.

Major Khamis Sultan Ateeq Al Muhairi, Police Attaché at the UAE Embassy in Paris noted that 11 scholarship students took part in the course, which was coordinated by the French Ministry of Interior.

“Students were distributed into four groups based on their academic disciplines. The course tackled a number of police and security topics, including the various judicial police and special laws disciplines. During the course, students were acquainted with the various police departments and sections affiliated to the French Ministry of Interior, which would help them in their studies to have a clear understanding of the French security services’ work mechanisms, and means of communication between these various services,” added Major Al Muhairi.

Students also carried out field visits to a number of French police facilities, including the National Police Headquarters in Paris, the National Gendarmerie Headquarters; the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior’s Security Center; the Crime Combating Unit; the Center for Strategic Studies; the Central Directorate of Judicial Police; and the Police Headquarters in Paris among others. Students also visited the Versailles Palace and the Pompidou, Louvre, Quai Branly and Orsay Museums.

The ceremony saw attended by Major General Emile Perez, President of the International Cooperation Department in Paris; Major Dr. Khamis Sultan Al Muhairi, who distributed the graduation certificates to the graduates. Moreover, both parties exchanged commemorative gifts and photos in the presence of a number of French officials.
