The Media and Public Relations Coordination Committee at the Ministry of Interior discussed a number of topics and issues that will be tackled in the upcoming period. Among these topics, security awareness, the risks of electronic networks, and the use of modern technology by young people. The committee also reviewed the awareness-related materials to be posted in all traditional and new media outlets, as well as the ideas and proposals related to awareness-raising programs prepared in cooperation and coordination with the Security Media Department.

This came during a meeting chaired by Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadi, Acting Head of Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior and chairman of the committee, at the Ferrari World Headquarters in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Present at the meeting were Colonel Dr. Jassem Khalil Mirza, Director of Security Awareness at Dubai police and all members of the various police general headquarters in the State.

During the meeting, a number of topics on the agenda were discussed, including the past six months’ achievements and the projects underway. Among the landmark achievements of the past period, the food and water security strategy; the a file on libraries’ policy at the Ministry of Interior; adoption of an initiative to organize a meeting for public relations officers; and preparation of a comprehensive vision for the second phase of the MoI’s village. . Moreover, the committee reviewed a report shedding light on committee’s chairman and the accompanying delegation’s participation 5th meeting of the GCC Security Media Committee, Recently held in Riyadh, as well as the most important initiatives and ideas submitted at the meeting.

Attendees also discussed the proposed initiative for standardization of protocols at the State level, as well as the materials and photos that will be included in the 2014 yearly agenda, which will be issued by the ministry. They also reviewed the various police websites in the state and strongly recommended coordination between them.

On the other hand, Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadi and the MoI Media and Public Relations Coordination Committee members, met with Mr. Osama Mostafa, Sales Executive at Farah Leisure Parks Management L.L.C, which operates Yas Island, Water World and Ferrari World. Attendees explored the promotional offers provided by the company to the Ministry of Interior’s staff members and their families, as per the memorandum of understanding concluded in this regard.
