A Ministry of Interior delegation from the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ to get acquainted with its tasks and leverage its practical experience. The delegation reviewed the efforts exerted by the department and its interaction with the various community members and institutions. Moreover, the delegation praised the significant achievements of the Abu Dhabi Community Police, and successes that earned it a prominent status and renown among police departments in the Arab world and Gulf region.
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police met with the Saudi security delegation, headed by Major General Juman Ahmed Al Ghamedi, Assistant Director of Public Security for Security Affairs in Saudi Arabia, accompanied by Brigadier Mubarak Abdurrahman Al Muaini; from the Directorate General of Criminal Investigations at the Public Security Directorate in Saudi Arabia.
Bin Muhairombriefed the delegation about the Community Police’s tasks and its interaction with community members. Members of the delegation watched a documentary showcasing the Community Police’s role in dealing with the various society segments and nationalities. The documentary also shed the light on the means to promote the public’s trust in the provided services, through the Community Police foot patrols that reach out to the various nationalities across Abu Dhabi.
The documentary also provided an overview of Community Police’s relationship with strategic partners, both from the local Government or businesses. It also shed light on the community members’ participation through initiatives that serve the population in their residential neighborhoods.
At the end of the meeting, Major General Al Ghamedi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Abu Dhabi Police, represented by Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police, and to the attending UAE delegation, for the opportunity to review the Community Police’s experience and success stories in this regard.
