Yas Island, the GCC’s prime tourist destination, is set to participate at the upcoming World Travel Market (WTM) which will take place in London from 04-07 November 2013. The event will provide the ideal platform to promote Yas Island among 47,776 global travel professionals and to discuss travel, tourism and business opportunities with both leisure and trade industry partners.
Yas Island’s participation, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA) and Abu Dhabi Events Calendar, will showcase its various attractions, venue’s, hotel properties and future plans to an audience of over 5,000 exhibitors from 184 countries and regions and an ambitious 8,000 attendees who are eager to explore new concepts from destinations around the world.
Karim El Guanaini, Vice President of Yas Island Destination Management, who will be representing Yas Island at the upcoming WTM said: “Yas Island has shown tremendous development over the past year with more improvements to be introduced soon. This year alone we launched Yas Waterworld, the region’s largest waterpark, and Yas Marina also got revamped with the addition of five new internationally and locally acclaimed restaurants. WTM creates a vibrant and enthusiastic platform to share our updates with the industry and we expect an even greater buzz this year as travel and tourism is picking up and opportunities are endless.”
Home to Yas Marina Circuit, renowned for hosting the annual F1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, set to kick start on Friday 01 November 2013, and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world’s first Ferrari branded theme park, Yas Island has become the
preferred destination for having endless hours of fun, whether outdoors in the sun or indoors for sheer excitement overload.
Yas Island is situated only 7 minutes from the Abu Dhabi International Airport which makes it an attractive and accessible destination for both leisure and business travelers. A selection of six hotels can be found within one plaza, along with the luxurious Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, a five star, iconic hotel – the only one in the world to straddle an F1 race track being breathtakingly built half on land and half over water.
“We look forward to creating further awareness on Yas Island during this very important exhibition while also strengthening the whole Abu Dhabi offering. It will be a great opportunity to connect with existing and new industry players and learn of new developments within the travel and tourism sectors as well. We endeavor to remain one of the most sought after destinations in the world and it’s pivotal to create ties with countries and partners who can assist in supporting our vision and to educate tourism aficionados of the opportunities that lie within fostering Yas Island as a destination and Abu Dhabi, the UAE as a whole,” added El Guanaini.
During the four day event, visitors can expect a great selection of activities at the Yas Island stand (ME300, Hall S3) which will showcase the excitement and entertainment one can expect when visiting any of the attractions on Yas Island. Look out for the interactive photobooth which will transform your expressions as if you were going 240km/h in under five seconds on the Formula Rosso roller coaster or as you explore the legend of the lost pearl at Yas Waterworld. Participate in the social media competitions and stand a chance to win the Grand Prize which will be announced on the last day of WTM!
Don’t forget to put your business card in the slots on the stand to win amazing getaway prizes like a weekend getaway on Yas Island, Etihad economy tickets for two to Abu Dhabi, sunset cruises along Yas Marina and Captain Tonys, and premium passes to Yas Waterworld and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi or a round of Golf at Yas Links.
Yas Island can be visited at stand ME300 from 4-7 November 2013 at the WTM 2013, ExCel London. For more information or to schedule an appointment with a Yas Island representative during WTM visit yasisland.ae or contact Ms. Claire Walker from Rawaj International at claire.w@rawajinternational.com.
