Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi’s wave river turned into a yellow race track with the participation of more than 2,000 rubber ducks at the Yas Waterworld Duck Race this morning. The event was held at the UAE’s first mega waterpark in collaboration with Make-A-WishFoundation, the nonprofit foundation that grants the wishes of children between the ages of 3-18 living with life-threatening medical conditions.
Each with a serial number accompanied by a corresponding duck-cutout receipt, the ducks were dropped into the Yadi Yas wave river.At the end of the race, the owner of the winning duck took home two annual passes to Yas Waterworld and tickets to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and other prizes.
“We are so honored to host such a great event that involved the community for a worthy cause,” says Mike Oswald, General Manager. “I would like to thank everyonewho has contributed to this great initiative and everyone who attendedthe race not only to have a great time but to be part of this amazing event.”
Since it was started in 2010, the UAE chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted more than 700 wishes to children, bringing joy to the kids and their families through its impressive and dedicated work.
