Total ABK Academy is conducting interviews for the 6th batch to develop Emirati males for a skilled job in the oil and gas industry in two and half years.
Total Abu Al Bukhoosh Academy is currently selecting its new Intake of apprentices. Recently, six selection sessions have been held in Abu Dhabi and the northern region (Fujairah). More than 150 candidates from all over UAE have been invited to appear for the selection tests. The selected candidates will join the academy as apprentice with a competitive salary in an international oil and gas company.
In order to ensure that Total Academy graduates are of top calibre and competence, the search is on for motivated candidates who will start the program in October 2013. At the end of two and half years customised educational and practical hands-on work program, the graduates will become skilled technicians capable of working on the operations sites of oil and gas fields.
Young Emiratis seeking a career in UAE’s vital and rewarding industry are invited to apply on the academy website: http://tabka.ae/ or call on 02 6986651.
Total, a world class energy company operating in 130 countries, has a legacy with the UAE of nearly 75 years since the first venture in 1939 when Total was one of the partners for developing oilfields in Abu Dhabi. In 2008 Total partnered with the Vocational Education Development Centre (VEDC) to establish Total ABK-VEDC Academy at Shahama, about 40 km away from Abu Dhabi city.
The academy is a capacity building program for Emiratis to make them employable in oil and gas industry field operations as technicians or operators. Through this time tested program, Total shares with the UAE its worldwide resources of technology and innovation.
The Academy apprentices follow a five semester program. During the first and second semesters the apprentices acquire general knowledge about oil and gas technology leading them to choose specialisation (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical or Process) and start an on-the-job training program at offshore installations. The Academy graduates are offered a job in Total ABK besides other Abu Dhabi oil companies such as ADMA-OPCO, ADOC and Bunduq.
Currently, 28 Academy graduates are working in partnership companies, and 20 new graduates will be joining the oil and gas industry in January 2014.
