The Green Applications Higher Committee at the Ministry of Interior recently organized the Partners Forum on Environment and Green Applications. The Forum was held at the Dubai Kempinski Hotel, and attended by 32 MoI’s partners.
The Forum was inaugurated by Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and Deputy Chairman of the Green Applications Higher Committee. In his address on the occasion, Al Shuaibi emphasized that this forum reflects the MoI’s keenness to adopt the best practices in areas of green applications and environment protection.
“The Ministry of Interior seeks optimal commitment to correct behaviors towards green applications, ultimately leading to reduce negative impacts of its operations on the environment. This would allow the Ministry of Interior to become a forerunner in implementing the best sustainable environmental practices and to conduct its operations responsibly; commensurate with its vision, and as per the environment, health, and occupational safety regulations,” he added.
The Forum tackled numerous topics, notably the Ministry of Interior’s environmental and green applications strategy. This aims to acquaint partners with the relevant initiatives launched in this regard, and the role and potential partnerships in this area. The means to preserve the environment and prevent pollution were also among the topics discussed during the forum, in line with the UAE’s National Strategy for Green Growth.
It is noteworthy that the committee, which includes highly qualified officers, was formed to carry out a number of tasks notably; spreading the concepts and culture of the green applications across all sectors at the Ministry of Interior.
At the end of the Forum, Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi presented commemorative shields and certificates of honor to the partners.
