(8 September 2013)
Forum Taking Place From 7-9 October To Facilitate Knowledge Transfer And Inspire Innovation

The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development has announced that it will host the Abu Dhabi Entrepreneurship Forum from 7-9 October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. This is in line with the Fund’s goal of incubating the next generation of innovative SME’s, thus fulfilling its role as a key driver of sustainable growth for the business sector.

Making the announcement, His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki, CEO of the Khalifa Fund said, “This event aims to discover and nurture the brightest entrepreneurial talents in order to cultivate a supportive environment where entrepreneurs can thrive. We will help them to successfully overcome business challenges and become thought leaders who elevate our economy to the next level.”

The forum equips participants with leadership skills, while teaching the adoption of international best practices in employee management, project management, innovative thinking and numerous other skills aligned with the economic goals enshrined under Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.

The agenda will include financing options for SME’s and micro-enterprises, the role of the youth as the next generation of business leaders, social empowerment and the importance of creative business concepts that maximize the UAE’s economic competitiveness on the global stage.

To make the dissemination of knowledge as lively and participant-friendly as possible, workshops, panel discussions and investor clinics will teach entrepreneurs how to transform big ideas into financially viable projects. All this will collectively contribute to accelerating the transition towards a fully knowledge-driven economy championed by high-achievers.

Participates will include prominent captains of industry, investors, government officials and senior decision makers from the private and public sector at the national, regional and global level. Renowned delegates include His Excellency Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment; Abdullatif Alsayegh, CEO of Alsayegh Media; Claire Woodcraft, CEO of the Emirates Foundation; Badr Jafar, President of Crescent Petroleum and co-founder of Jumbo World; and Hala Fadel, Head of the MIT Enterprise Forum in the Pan-Arab region.

HE Al Darmaki added: “This is the best possible platform on which entrepreneurs can showcase their innovative projects to attract investors. They are not just promoting their own projects, but also promoting our entire emirate as an internationally competitive destination for business.”

Participating institutions from the UAE and the Gulf region include the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Noor Islamic Bank, the Bank of Hope from Yemen, the Qatar Foundation, the National Entrepreneurship Institute of Saudi Arabia and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) among others.

The Platinum Sponsors for the forum are BP and the UAE Offset Program (Tawazun), and the Gold Sponsor is Union National Bank. The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the Silver Sponsor, with Mubadala Development Company being the Bronze Sponsor.
