A delegation from the UAE’s Ministry of Interior participated in the 5th meeting of the GCC Security Media Committee. The meeting was held on the 27th and 28thAugust and hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadhi, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, revealed that the meeting tackled the unification of GCC Security Media authorities’ efforts in establishing pillars of security and stability in the Gulf Region.
Participants in the meeting reviewed a number of topics and cases of interest for Security Media authorities, including the resolutions of the GCC’s Ministers of Interior and executive procedures regarding security media.
The meeting discussed the means to enhance cooperation and coordination between these authorities for the benefit of mutual security work in the Gulf, in addition to educational methods in the Civil Defense field. It also discussed the possibility of their development to fulfill the needs of GCC citizens and achieve the desired goals under the work to protect public safety.
The meeting also reviewed and discussed a number of work sheets presented for member states, where Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadhi, Head of the UAE delegation, revealed the Ministry of Interior village’s experience. Participants in the meeting praised this experience along with its ideas and topics that helped to enhance cooperation and communication among different police sections and all society members.
The head of UAE delegation stressed the necessity of continued education in all security fields to protect everyone. He also reiterated the importance of youth education using modern techniques especially maintaining pace with technical developments.
The delegation included Major Seif Al Mansouri, Lieutenant Ahmed Al Hamadi, and media figure Ahmed Al Dahmani.
The GCC Security Media Committee will hold its 6th meeting in Kuwait next year.
