Waitrose, the food shops of the John Lewis Partnership, is to extend its presence overseas with the opening of its third branch in the UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, bringing the total in the UAE to six.

The 6,600 sqft shop is located in Avenue at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi’s first standalone luxury shopping destination. It will open under licence through the retailer’s unique partnership with Fine Fare Food Market LLC (FFFM) and will employ 45 people.

Combining the convenience of a supermarket with the expertise and service of a specialist shop, Waitrose, Avenue at Etihad Towers is set to become a firm favourite with residents and those who appreciate fine food, good value and great service.

The shop will sell a wide selection of Waitrose products including the Waitrose LOVElife range of delicious and nutritiously balanced food and drink and Waitrose Cooks’ Ingredients, which is designed for those who enjoy cooking from scratch. There will be indulgent treats from Waitrose Seriously,innovative products from Heston from Waitrose and the best of British organics under the Duchy Originals from Waitrose range.

This shop will also sellthe Waitrose Cook and Dine range, including the Waitrose signature white porcelain range of dineware which is perfect for dinner parties. Each season, Waitrose introduces new homeware in different styles and colours which can be used to accent or kit out the kitchen. The range also includes a wide selection of Waitrose utensils and cooking equipment, as well as products from international brands like Joseph Joseph and Oxo to name but two.

Employing over 500 people in the UAE alone Waitrose/ FFFM continue to look for opportunities for expansion in the region.
