A Flagship health center which opened at the St Regis resort on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi this year has started receiving clients from the UAE and other Gulf states and the facility expects a boom in medical tourism to the country.
The DNA Centre for Integrative Medicine and Wellness said it would shortly launch promotion campaigns to market its services through Saudi Arabia, Russia and other countries following its official inauguration by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Culture and Youth, UAE on May 14th 2013.
“The center will contribute to attracting visitors in the medical tourism sector to the UAE,” said Noor Al Nuaimi, head of marketing and communications at the Centre.
Al Nuaimi, the first Emirati woman to take up such a position in the emirate, said the Centre would soon turn Abu Dhabi into a key wellness tourism and recuperation destination, adding that there are plans to launch campaigns to promote its services in Saudi Arabia, Russia and Globally.
She paid tributes to the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority for cooperating with the center in promoting its services in the GCC and Europe.
She noted that the center has just launched a package for “a better life” intended to manage obesity, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, cancer, hormonal imbalance, women’s health, stress issues, and chronic disease. Based on a DNA test for each individual, a personalized lifestyle and wellness plan is created for the guest.
“The Centre brings a unique approach involving the latest in western diagnostic techniques and traditional healing remedies for healthy ageing and disease prevention.
“We are seeking to turn Abu Dhabi into a favorite global destination for wellness tourism and Bio Aesthetics beauty treatments, based on a tested model being implemented in Hollywood and utilized by the celebrities and stars.
She said Saadiyat was selected as a base for the center given its natural beauty, serenity and clean beaches that stretch nearly nine km.
According to a recent report by the London-based market research company Euromonitor International, medical tourism in the UAE could generate nearly $1.69 billion in 2013. It noted that Abu Dhabi has the resources for such a sector given its modern facilities, safety, numerous islands, sunny weather most of the time and traditional Arabian hospitality.
The center, the first of its kind in the Gulf, is run by an all-American medical team, whose members arrived early this year just before the facility was launched.
This multi-disciplinary team includes Us Board Certified physicians, naturopathic professionals, nutritional experts, lifestyle and spiritual coaches, as well as exercise and physical trainers.
The Center offers different packages for guests based on a holistic approach combining the mind, body, and spirit.
