National Bureau of Statistics has issued the annual statistical report on economic, social, agricultural and environmental indicators for the year 2012.
Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State, Board Chairman of NBS, said in the introduction of the report that the statistical reports represent a raw material for manufacturing of information in all fields.
She noted that many countries have taken interest in strengthening their statistical agencies, especially after the World Financial Crisis, adding that there were demands for world class data and official statistical reports.
Al Hashimi said the UAE’s NBS has been keeping pace with the latest series of technical and statistical procedures to provide high quality reports that meet demands in this respect.
She said the preparation of this report comes amid improvement of the economic performance management indicators, adding that the current recovery was prompted by the positive results, thanks to the policies adopted by the government in the areas of economy, finance, social and others.
