As sales for Yas Marina’s sought-after Race Week berths open this Thursday, 1 August, the Marina is gearing up for what is expected to be its quickest Race Week sell-out to date.
"Since launching our 2013 Race Week berth rates earlier this year, we’ve seen a 25% increase in expressions of interest," said Cedric Le Rest, General Manager of Yas Marina.
"In addition to greater interest overall, we’ve also seen a 10% increase in boat size this year, as well as a rise in inquiries from international boat owners, from both the GCC region and beyond," he added.
Fuelling the popularity of Yas Marina’s 2013 Race Week berths is the news that the Marina’s current expansion project will be open this October, in time for Race Week.
Announced in December 2012, the redevelopment will see a 14% increase in Marina capacity as it will also see the addition of seven new restaurants including Spanish tapas restaurant Diablito Food and Music; well-known Beirut based lounge restaurant Iris; brassiere-style café, Café d’Alsace; a yet to be named seafood restaurant from the same team behind Ornina Abu Dhabi; and contemporary Lebanese restaurant, Rozanah. The redevelopment will also see the return of revamped restaurants Stars ’N’ Bars and Cipriani as well as the addition of a pedestrianized promenade, an interactive musical fountain and a children’s playground.
"Yas Marina’s expansion is a key driver of this renewed interest, but it is not the only one," added Le Rest. "In the past four years, we have built a solid reputation as being a fun and unique Race Week venue for both motorsport and marine enthusiasts. Our expansion adds a new dimension to our already strong proposition and we are looking forward to our most successful and busiest Race Week to date," concluded Le Rest.
In addition to unparalleled access to a range of new Yas Marina venues, Race Week berths also include a variety of other Marina services and amenities including track-view berth options, access to Wi-Fi, power and water, an onsite Capitainerie with bathrooms and showers, 24-hour berthing and customer service, boat and buggy transfers, catering and delivery options, convenient access to other Yas Island attractions as well as Yas Marina Guest and Crew passes and parking permits.
Race Week berthing tariffs start from just Dhs11,435 and will be available for 29th October to 4th November 2013, with or without track-side views, for boats ranging in size from 8 meters to 150 meters.
For boat owners wanting to enjoy Yas Marina year-round, attractive annual berths for boats of all sizes start from just Dhs16,445; a rate that also includes a Race Week berth along with a host of other benefits.
