The Al Ain Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department organized an event on the occasion of the “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work” in memory of the ninth anniversary of the passing of HH Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God Have Mercyupon his Soul), the visionary founder who built the UAE.This event is in line with the initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, under the slogan: “Love and Loyalty to Zayed.”The “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work” is named for the day that coincides with the anniversary of the death of the late Sheikh Zayed.

The celebrations featured various shows and activities including documentaries about Sheikh Zayed’s life (May God Have Mercy on his Soul) and his humanitarian efforts. Moreover, his timeless sayingswere displayed on monitors in the customer waiting halls. The final day of the Ramadan competition held at the Residency and Foreigners AffairsDepartment under the title, “The Challenge” concludedwith a review of the life of the founding father through questions raised to the competitors.

Commenting on the subject,Colonel Khalifa MatarBalquba’ Al Humairi, Director of Al Ain Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department, noted that that this initiative reflects appreciation and gratitude towards the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the visionary founder of the UAE, who devoted himself and his life to serving his people and nation with dedication and loyalty, and left a bright and distinctive mark on the nation’s history.

“His memory will remain immortal in theminds and conscience of the UAE people, and in the hearts and minds of both Arab and Islamic countries. He is remembered for his humility, nobility and goodness,” added Colonel Al Humairi. He also pointed out that Al Ain Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department sought to evoke Sheikh Zayed’s (May God Have Mercy on his Soul) eternal historical and humanitarian actions by reviving his memory. His memory will always guide the nation’s path and enlighten the paths of future generations.
