The Madinat Khalifa Police Station Team of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters was crowned champion of the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work Football Championship organized in the Holy Month of Ramadan. The team received the title after defeating the Nepali Laborer Community Team 6-0 in the final match.
Sponsored and supported by the Madinat Khalifa Police Station, the event was recently concluded on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi with the participation of 12 teams, including 11 teams from laborer communities that fall under the authority of the center. A total of 100 players participated.
Major Muhammed Hassan Al Hosani, Operation Affairs Director at the Madinat Khalifa Police Station of thePeripheral Regions Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police, recognized the winning team and encouraged players to promote their community activities with a high level of sportsmanship. The organizing committee, referees, best player, best goalkeeper, and best scorer were also recognized.
Al Hosani mentioned that this championship is a response to the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work initiative in memory of HH Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God Have Mercy on His Soul), and serves as a reminder of his work and initiatives.
He commended the police’s support in empowering laborers to participate in the implementation of the Abu Dhabi Police strategy and promoting community partnerships reflecting positively on the productivity of laborers.
The ceremony was attended by Major Muhammed Al Hosani, Operation Affairs Director; Captain Juma’a Al Badi, Community Police Branch Manager; and First Lt. Nasser Al Aryani, Support Services Branch Manager in Madinat Khalifa Police Station, along with representatives of Ministry of Labor, partners in Yas Island, a large audience of different nationalities in the UAE, and spectators.
