100 Days To Go: Yas Marina Circuit Gears Up For The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Thousands More Set To Enjoy 5th Anniversary Race Weekend

 

With 100 days to go from today, Thursday 25th, 2013to race day at the2013 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Marina Circuit is gearing up for the what will bethe largest Abu Dhabi race weekend yet.

“Once we reach the 100 day countdown, we enter a very exciting phase of planning and preparation,” said Al Tareq Al Ameri, Senior Director - Commercial, Yas Marina Circuit. “Planning an event, the size and scale of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix requires an immense level of coordination and we are on track to this year host what will be the biggest, best, and most inclusive Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to date.”

Among the details being finalised in the 100 day lead up to the November 3rd race dayis Circuit and island-wide transportation, central operations planning, venue and race communications, as well as all Circuit-wide food and beverage and catering.

Also nearing the final stages of completion is new race viewingarea, Abu Dhabi Hill. Added to the ticket category line-up for the first time this year, Abu Dhabi Hill will increase available seats by 5,000, bringing the total capacity of the F1 circuit to 55,000. Race-goers taking advantage of this new ticket option will have unrivalled views of the Sunday race as well as the GP2, GP3 and Porsche Mobil Supercar support races starting as low as AED 395, making it the most accessible ticket category on offer.

“Abu Dhabi Hill is proving tremendously popular withboth returning and new fans as are long standing categories such as Paddock Club,” confirmed Al Ameri. “Also popular this year is the South Grandstand. Fans seated in the South Grandstand during last year’s Grand Prix had clear views of all of the on-track action that occurred during the race and many are anticipating arepeat of that excitement this year.”

For fun and entertainment seeking fans, the 100 days preceding race day will also mean the confirmation and announcement of an exciting line up of family friendly off-track entertainment in the Oasis Areas of the Circuit as well as the much anticipatedFriday After-Race Concert artist.

“The fifth anniversary of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prixwill be a weekend that has something for everyone and as we countdown;we look forward to showing the world, why there is more to F1 in Abu Dhabi.”
