Last night’s line up of the ten Cloeween Connection winners of The Circle Conference were presented with their awards by writer-director Spike Lee at the Shangri-La Abu Dhabi in the presence of HE Mohammed Khalaf Al-Mazrouei – Director General of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage – and Adrienne Briggs, Director of The Circle.
The Cloeween Connection is a programme for Directors designed to reach out and liaise with numerous film communities in the Middle East and promote emerging filmmakers. The idea is to further their careers by heightening industry and public awareness of their talent.
The awards ceremony followed a Master Class with Mc G – the director of Charlie’s Angels, We are Marshall and Terminator: Salvation. Joining him on stage were Jim Gianopulos - Chairman of Fox Twentieth Century Fox, Spike Lee and Producer, Kathleen Kennedy.
Tomorrow – Wednesday – there will be a Master Class given by Antonio Banderas, who will also be presenting the $100,000 award to the winner of the Shasha Grant screenwriting contest.
