The 8th Ramadan Worker Championship, which is organized by Musaffah Police Station of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, kicked off yesterday evening. The championship includes three games: football, volleyball, and cricket.

This event aims to involve workers and enhance entertainment and competitive aspects for workers in society, as well as help them expend their energy in sports.

A total of 16 football teams, eight volleyball teams, and 16 cricket teams will partake in the championship. The championship will be held in the city of ICAD, Musaffah, Abu Dhabi.

Major HamadRakan Al Rahidi, Director of the Community Police Affairs Branch at the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate, delivered an opening speech in which he welcomed guests and attendees. He extended his congratulations on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. He emphasized the Abu Dhabi Police’s role of consolidating community connections; he also commended the management of ICAD for their efforts to make the championship successful. He also urged workers to enjoy the tournament with a positive sporting spirit.

Major Sultan Saeed Al Raisi, Director of Musaffah Station at the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate, said: “The directorate is pleased to have organized this championship, now in its eighth consecutive year. It reflects the event’s success as it focuses on entertainment for workers and helps them expend their energy in sporting activities.”

Abdullah Rashid Al Ka’bi, Deputy Director, Mass Housing, ICAD, congratulated workers on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, explaining the games organized during the Ramadan Championship. He commended the efforts of Musaffah Police Station for their ongoing support to bring success to this championship for eight consecutive years.

Furthermore, Lieutenant Mohammed Saeed Al Ameri, Director of Community Police Branch, pointed out that this championship comes within the Abu Dhabi Police’s support to involve workers in society. He explained the role of the community police in implementing the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police to enhance community partnerships, in order to reflect positively on laborers.
