On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Al Ain Zoo recently sponsored employees for a journey to Mecca for Al Umrah.
The employees from different departments (Veterinary, Animal Collection, Facilities & Asset Management, Horticulture, Human Resources, Procurement & Contracts, and General Services & Administration) enjoyed a guided tour of Mecca, providing a memorable experience for the pilgrims.
Ghanim Al Hajeri, Director General of Al Ain Zoo, said:
“We are proud to have sponsored Al Ain Zoo employees to perform Umrah for the second year running. The initiative is an opportunity for Al Ain Zoo to make a social contribution to the lives of our employees, who may otherwise not have been able to perform the rites of Umrah.”
Mariam Al Shamsi, Director Human Resources and Strategy at Al Ain Zoo, further explained:
“This initiative is part of the objectives of Al Ain Zoo, to become the most prominen employer in the future”.
Al Ain Zoo launched the Umrah sponsorship initiative last year as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy, and will continue to offer the trips on an annual basis.
