The Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC) today announced the participation of 120 UAE National students in the 9th Tech Quest program. Held under the theme ‘City of the Future,’ the program offers exciting hands-on workshops and engaging industry speakers aimed at motivating students to pursue science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) education. This edition’s partners include Qualcomm, Intel, Microsoft, Emitac and The Change Initiative.
“Tech Quest presents a dynamic and engaging environment allowing youth remarkable hands-on opportunities with true industry leaders,” said Hanan Harhara, Head of Human Capital at ATIC. “The project originated from the goal to facilitate development of the UAE’s future engineers and technologists. Acknowledging the audience, all activities are designed to be engaging and intellectually stimulating, pushing students to think critically and solve what are really quite complex scientific problems.”
During the program, 7th - 12th grade students will learn how to manufacture ‘Solar Light Bottles,’ embark on a ‘Mechatronics Challenge’ using 3D printing, program and control advanced robotic aerial vehicles and have the chance to become a superhero movie director through the use of nanotechnology. Students also have the opportunity to gain invaluable insight into the practical demands of the global technology industry through workshops organized by the program partners.
Held over two weeks, Tech Quest opened simultaneously on Sunday July 7th in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain at the iconic Aldar HQ building and the UAE University respectively. The program will also run from July 14th - 25th at Al Shumookh School in the Western Region.
