Since its launch in 2010, the Abu Dhabi Art Wings Project has successfully created a platform for Emirati artists and designers to engage and showcase their artistic talents to an international audience. This year’s competition, part of the Abu Dhabi Art Design Programme, provides again, the opportunity to have the winning designs applied across the Abu Dhabi Art programme on printed materials, advertising, merchandise and other collateral.

Hind Khouri, Marketing Officer, TCA Abu Dhabi says of this initiative, “The Wings Project continues to not only encourage young artists and designers, but also, and more specifically, support the local art community and encourage UAE Nationals within the creative fields. This project brings together talented Emiratis and offers them a chance to have their work displayed throughout a prestigious and international art event. In turn, through the various support channels, we aim to promote Abu Dhabi, its artists, designers and creative hubs as the cultural destination it is.”

Submissions are now open for new creative concepts which feature the Abu Dhabi Art ‘wing’ logo, inspired by the event, through any medium and artistic practice.

The fifth edition of Abu Dhabi Art (20 – 23 November 2013) has established Saadiyat Island and Abu Dhabi’s legacy as the cultural destination of the future, held in the Saadiyat Cultural District. Abu Dhabi Art is more than an art fair, but presents a unique platform for modern and contemporary art and design as well as a carefully curated public programme, including diverse activities such as the Wings Project.
