Under the Patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development, Chairman of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, the action packed Kobe Bryant Health and Fitness Weekend in support of diabetes awareness will be held on the 26th and 27th September in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The event is presented by Maven Marketing and Events, the regions first full service entertainment marketing, public relations and events agency. The action packed weekend is set to be the most exciting basketball event ever to be produced in the region. Fans from all over the region are expected to travel to the UAE to see the living legend in person. The General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, the national Sport is a Lifestyle campaign, and the Dubai Sports Council have endorsed the event.

Bryant’s first stop in the UAE will be to the capital on 26th September. The five time champion will be coaching youth in a basketball skills clinic that day. The lucky kids that win a chance to participate in the clinic will have the electrifying experience of getting to meet Kobe Bryant in addition to learning basketball techniques to help improve their skills. Details of how youth can win an opportunity to participate in the clinic will be announced in post Ramadan in mid-August.

The highlight of the exhilarating weekend will be Bryant leading the team warm up and coaching a celebrity basketball game at the American University in Dubai on 27th September. This is sure to be the hottest ticket in town. The dynamic game will consist of both international and local celebrities including UAE based influential leaders. This is set to be a once in a lifetime experience for fans as Bryant will be wearing a wireless microphone throughout the duration of the game so the crowd can hear his every word. Fans will be able to get a glimpse inside the mind of a basketball legend during the game and witness first hand his charismatic and humorous personality. The event partners and roster of celebrity game players will be announced mid-August; however Maven Marketing and Events is offering a sneak peak at some of the UAE based players confirmed to participate in the game. Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chief Commercial Officer of Aldar, Kris Fade, popular morning show presenter on Virgin Radio, and Marwan Parham better known as DJ Bliss, Dubai’s most renowned DJ, will be showing off their basketball skills on Bryant’s team. Tickets for the big game are expected to go on sale to the public post Ramadan in mid-August.

Immediately following the celebrity basketball game, Kobe will be judging a slam dunk competition consisting of the best dunkers from the region. The grand finale of the exhilarating weekend will be a lively after party attended by Kobe Bryant and the celebrities in the game.
