The Authority has opened enrolment for this year’s Tourism Youth Summer Camp, an annual, three-week programme which introduces Emiratis, aged 15-17, to the emirate’s tourism product.
Organised in co-ordination with Abu Dhabi’s European International College, the camp will run at the four-star Yas Rotana Hotel, August 18-September 5, and will comprise 100 young Emiratis - a mix of both boys and girls.
Camp modules for 2013 include the Yas Island destination marketing campaign and the recently-launched Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau.
There will be field trips to facilities on Saadiyat Island, including the five-star The St.Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and the Manarat Al Saadiyat exhibition centre as well as to Masdar City. The students will be introduced to sports tourism, attend a special workshop on the preservation and promotion of culture and heritage, and meet Chef Khulood Atiq - the UAE’s own celebrity chef - to learn how cuisine help promote the destination and its culture.
The Camp will culminate in a graduation ceremony.
