Mubadala GE Capital, a specialized commercial finance company that provides financing solutions to businesses, announced today that it has strengthened its ties with the Future Centre for Special Needs (the Future Centre), an Abu Dhabi-based non-profit organisation which supports young people with special needs. In line with its commitment to support local communities, Mubadala GE Capital will provide additional funding and support to enable the Future Centre to help even more young people in the UAE.
The two organizations will collaborate to provide internship opportunities for students with special needs, where they will learn a variety of workplace skills while supporting a number of functions within Mubadala GE Capital. As part of a full year of planned activities, students from the Future Centre will also have the opportunity to learn computer skills during training sessions run by volunteers from Mubadala GE Capital on site at the Future Centre. In addition, the Mubadala GE Capital Finance Department will support and advise the finance team at the Future Centre about incorporating private sector best practice into the operations of a charity.
Established in 2000, the Future Centre accommodates over 170 students between the ages of three and 20 years of age from various nationalities, cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. The Future Centre is dedicated to the empowerment of individuals with disabilities, and seeks to meaningfully improve the quality of life for its students. Mubadala GE Capital has a long-standing association with the Future Centre, and the company’s CEO, Ronald Herman, sits on the board of the organisation.
