Total in the United Arab Emirates is celebrating Global Diversity days in all of its UAE affiliates and subsidiaries, from May 20 to 23, as a part of the activity done in Total group worldwide spread over 130 countries.
Highlighting the axes of diversity, Jean-Luc Guiziou, Total UAE President said that respecting diversity is an important component of our relations with stakeholders namely ADNOC, Mubadala and their group companies, ADWEA as well as broad spectrum of International Oil Companies (IOC). He recounted that Total in the UAE is associated with nine ventures. Regarding capacity building of Emiratis, he said the Total UAE grants scholarships and sponsors young Emiratis for post graduation as well as Total Summer School and international assignments for Total UAE personnel contribute to the diversity of Total Group.
Mr. Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Total UAE for Institutional Development and ex member of Total Diversity Council elaborated how Total is a local company in the UAE, a regional company in the middle-east and international company globally. He emphasized on the efforts of Total on empowering Emiratis and gender balancing. He also talked about how Total is implementing social innovations to contribute towards community development.
Mr. Philippe Cabus, Managing Director of Total Marketing Middle East said that he is pleased to have a diverse team of 22 nationalities amongst 216 employees in the marketing of operations based in Dubai. He elaborated on the importance of having a diverse workforce as it enable the company to have a greater representation and better understanding of their customers.
Mr. Amer Al Sheikh Ali, Total Abu Al Bukhoosh General Manager narrated how UAE nationals, especially females, are developed in the company to take responsible management positions. He was also proud that integration of Total ABK Academy graduates in the workforce propels the diversity policy of Total Group.
The four day diversity celebrations will include activities related to raising cultural awareness, support for special needs individuals and establishing a mechanism including an empowered body to sustain women empowerment.
