Amateur golfers around the region are getting ready to participate at the next round of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, taking place on May 18 at the Yas Links Golf Club in Abu Dhabi.

Xerox, the leading enterprise for business process and document management and organiser of the 15th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge (XCGC), which has been twice named as the ‘Best Corporate Golf Event in the Middle East’, is expecting more than 40 teams (80 players) to play in the eighth round of the tournament.

Yas Links is the first Links golf course in the Middle East region. It is also the first course designed by Kyle Phillips, one of the world’s leading golf course designers. It consists of an eighteen-hole course, a nine-hole academy course, clubhouse, golf academy and floodlit practice facilities, with excellent views of the Arabian Gulf.

The tournament has received tremendous support from main sponsors being Avis Rent a Car and ABB, Co-sponsors also supporting the tournament include ECCO, the ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘longest drive’ sponsor, Crystal Gallery, the trophy sponsor, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas as the hotel sponsor, Scorpio Golf as the supplier sponsor, VPAR as the live golf scoring technology partner and Dubai Golf who have been appointed this year to manage this tournament. The media sponsors for this event are Khaleej Times, as the official newspaper sponsor and Golf Digest, the Official Magazine Sponsor.

The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, which is a sporting event held in all GCC countries and this year includes South Africa, consists of 11 qualifying rounds. Winners of all qualifying rounds will participate in the grand finals which will be held in its new location, the Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, UAE on October 23. Winners of the grand final will get the chance to play in the PRO AM category of the 2013 DP World Tour Dubai Championship.
