ENEC offers scholarships for talented and ambitious Emiratis and career opportunities for experienced professionals in the UAE’s growing nuclear energy sector
The quest led by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation to find the UAE’s best and brightest talent who will be the Energy Pioneers of tomorrow continues at the Fujairah Career Fair this week (14th -16th May).
Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) is offering a range of exclusive scholarships and career opportunities to attendees at the three-day exhibition, which is held at the Fujairah Exhibitions Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah.
ENEC officially launched its 2013 Energy Pioneers campaign last month to attract and train the most talented science students and experienced professionals to become pioneers of the UAE’s emerging nuclear energy sector. The scholarships on offer are part of ENEC’s Energy Pioneers program, with this year’s intake seeing a limited amount of 90 scholarship opportunities for UAE nationals to become part of the UAE peaceful nuclear energy program and power the growth of the nation.
ENEC has embarked on a nation-wide outreach program, which started at the Emirates Skills National Competition last month and has included a tour of universities, schools and careers fairs right across the UAE.
“We are working hard to develop the next generation of nuclear energy leaders and one of our most important priorities at ENEC is finding the very brightest minds,” said Mohamed Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Office of ENEC. “Our scholarship program is helping to identify and train Emiratis who are seeking a long-term and rewarding career path in an industry that will play a critical role in the continued growth of the UAE.”
ENEC provides opportunities for scholarships in a Higher Diploma of Nuclear Technology (HDNT) program through the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic as well as both Bachelors and Masters programs across chemical, nuclear, mechanical and electrical engineering. It also offers a significant number of positions for experienced professionals who are looking for a new and exciting challenge.
The company launched its Energy Pioneers program last year and the initiative has become critical in building a national skill base to staff the UAE’s nuclear energy industry, which will help power the future development of the nation. ENEC expects to have more than 2,000 employees by 2020, with a target of 60 per cent Emiratization. More than 250 talented Emiratis are already enrolled in the scholarships program.
ENEC, which is located in Hall 1 at the Fujairah Career Fair, is currently accepting registrations for scholarships in its HDNT and Bachelors programs. For more information, visit www.enec.gov.ae/hdnt and www.enec.gov.ae/scholarships
