The Workers Village (M24) held a celebration today for workers at its facility, in line with International Workers’ Day. The event reflects ZonesCorp’s commitment to all individuals who work in different areas of the organization, and in appreciation of the efforts of its workers.
The celebration was attended by 15,000 workers and held in the presence HE Khadem Al Muhairi, Chief Labor Services Officer at ZonesCorp, representatives from the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Interior, in addition to the ambassadors of India, Philippines and Nepal, and representatives from the embassies of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The celebrations included speeches given by the attending dignitaries and a variety of entertainment events, which saw workers winning prizes and receiving gifts.
Commenting on the celebration, HE Mohammed Hasan Al Qamzi, CEO of the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones, said: "We thank the management of the Workers Village for organizing this initiative and it is our great honor for us to be part of it. I would like to express my appreciation for all the hard work and dedication that has been shown by these workers, which has had a positive impact on the growth and development of the UAE’s economy.”
HE added: "ZonesCorp is working hard to provide the best environment for its workers, which in turn encourages them to provide their best and finest work. I would like to thank the management of the Workers Village for their continuous efforts in honoring and recognizing our workers’ efforts.”
ZonesCorp has previously hosted many social initiatives, including organising a marathon for around 500 workers at the Al Salam City labor accommodation in Abu Dhabi, in addition to organizing a joint full-day cleanup campaign for ICAD I with National Cement Co and Holcim.
