Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), master developer of major tourism, cultural and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi, has announced the opening of the first supermarket on Saadiyat. Located at The Collection within the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Spinneys Market is the first tenant to open its doors at the island’s first retail complex; however, several other restaurants and retail outlets are set to open shortly.

The Spinneys Market will provide residents and visitors with fresh food and grocery supplies in one location, adding to the convenience of living on Saadiyat. Residents currently enjoy a prime location next door to a collection of international five-star resorts, such as The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas, and top-class sports and leisure facilities. These include the region’s first championship beachfront golf course, the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and the world’s first Monte-Carlo Beach Club outside of Monaco, Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat.

The Collection, which consists of a mix of 25 restaurants and retail outlets, is the first retail complex on Saadiyat Island. With a total of 6,000 sqm of leasable space, The Collection features architecture inspired by old-world Mediterranean villages, with terraces, courtyards and piazzas.
