Al Wagan Hospital, a division of Tawam Hospital in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine, has announced the opening of new specialty clinics and the installation of a new appointment system. The new specialty clinics include Dermatology, Dietary, and Nephrology services treating patients on an appointment and referral basis according to the clinic schedule. The appointment system is designed to reduce waiting times and enhance the overall patient experience at the hospital.
Al Wagan Hospital has also added the services of on-call Internal Medicine Specialists 24/7 to augment the clinic’s five-day week operations. This is a significant all-round upgrade of services intended to make the hospital the first choice medical treatment centre for the citizens of Al Wagan, Al Dhahera, Bu Keria, Al Arad, Al Qua, and surrounding areas. Al Wagan is located approximately 100 km south of Al Ain in the UAE.
Other recent upgrades to the hospital include additional staff and equipment enhancements for the 24/7 emergency services. Procedures and tests not available at Al Wagan Hospital are referred to an appropriate healthcare facility such as Tawam Hospital.

Al Wagan Hospital is known for its Well Baby and Paediatric Clinics that offer individual care of the babies and pay particular attention to their wellness, development, and growth in the infancy up to 5 years stage. Al Wagan’s Gynaecology & Obstetrics Clinics and Antenatal GP Clinic provide obstetrics and gynaecology specialist treatment for expecting mothers and its Diabetics Clinic follows up treatment for existing Diabetes patients as well as new referrals from Internal Medicine.
The hospital has an Ophthalmology clinic, a Dialysis unit, operated by SEHA Dialysis Services, and a Laboratory that can process all routine laboratory investigations on site. The Radiology Section handles X-ray and Ultrasonography procedures and its Pharmacy is well supplied with medications especially for chronic diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, and Asthma.
Inaugurated In October 2004, Al Wagan Hospital operates 15 inpatient beds, with a service capacity to 25 beds, for on-going treatment of adults and paediatric patients. In 2007, the Hospital was added to the Tawam Hospital portfolio and tasked to provide high-quality primary care to patients in Al Wagan and surrounding areas.
Al Wagan Hospital is part of the SEHA Health System and is owned and operated by SEHA, which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
