The Abu Dhabi International Sports Exhibition- ADISE 2013 organised today a press conference in the Abu Dhabi Beach Rotana Hotel to showcase its strategy and objectives behind its upcoming event. The conference was held to announce the list of exhibitors and participants of its upcoming discussion panels in addition to highlighting the various sports activities which will take place at the sidelines of the event.
Speakers at the press conference included Talal Al Hashimi, Representative of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council; Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Board Member of the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation; Nada Khamees, Manager of ADISE 2013 and Tony Moubarak, General Coordinator of AD ISE 2013.
They highlighted the exclusive strategy of ADISE 2013, which aims to position this event as one of the biggest sports shows on a regional and global level. Organised by the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event will bring together with this second edition more than 100 local and international exhibitors, around 70 sports teams, 300 athletes in various sports along with the organisation of 15 discussion panels. ADISE 2013, which will be taking place in halls 10 and 11 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) on 9-12 April, will witness the participation of companies, international brands, sports federations, sports clubs, government entities, sports equipment manufacturers, sponsors, sports events organisers, sports and stadiums marketing agencies, and others.
The exhibition will feature this year two exclusives sports shows which include Christophe Hamel’s first extreme trampoline performance in the Arab World along with the world’s most famous French athletes, Crazy Dunkers, presenting their Olympic Games and football World Cup performances. Furthermore, the exclusive sports event will offer a variety of sports activities which include boxing, football freestyle and martial art performances.
The exhibition will include many stands and different sports activities, and will witness the participation of leading organisations and media in the UAE such as the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, TCA Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award represented by Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Sports Channel along with more than 15 sports organisations and federations.
ADISE’s list of exhibitors includes Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi Motor Sports Management, Wadi Adventure, Adventure HQ, Seadoo water bikes, Can- Am, Outdoor UAE and many others. ADISE 2013 will also witness in the indoor activities related to fitness the following: Get Moving Fitness and Spa Centre, Medfit, and Nutrition Zone while the list participants in the sports section include Al Boom Marine Services, Direct Trading, Fun Ride Sports along with various other exhibitors that will showcase their products and services to visitors of the event.
Talal Al Hashimi, Representative of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council on behalf of HE Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mahmood, Vice President of the General Authority for Youth and Sports and General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, praised the unlimited support and wise guidance of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for the development and progress of sports in the UAE and the wide interest in hosting the most important sports events in Abu Dhabi, which falls in line with development plans of placing Abu Dhabi in a privileged position in the sports global map. HE Mahmood also thanked and praised HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, for his continuous commitment in supporting sports and athletes as well as the senior leadership role of HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for his commitment to achieve excellence in all sports events in the capital city of Abu Dhabi.
Al Hashimi said: “The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, headed by HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, provide continuous support and sponsorship of sports events in Abu Dhabi, where the Council put in all its efforts into the success of the second Abu Dhabi International Sports Exhibition, after witnessing great success in the previous year. The exhibition holds the name of our beloved Capital whereby we offer all our capacities to promote its role, position and mission on the world map of sports.”
Al Hashimi highlighted the fact that the exhibition is a great opportunity to promote sports culture from a trade and sports perspective, and stressed on ADISE being one of the biggest sports events in the region by providing various opportunities for local and international sports institutions and organisations to showcase their products to professionals and individuals from across the region and the world.
For his part, Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, board member of UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, highlighted the importance of the educational role that will be played by this year’s exhibition through discussing a number of major sports-related issues such as providing bids for large sporting events, increasing the number of attendees at sports events and emphasising the role of the media in the promotion and sponsorship of local sports. In addition, the event will shed light on the importance of building a strategy for the development of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in the region, encouraging women’s sports in the UAE, developing motor racing, sports safety along with discussing special topics on football and the positive relation between sports and health. Al Shamsi also highlighted the fact that the 3x3basketball championship, which will be held on the last two days of the exhibition, 11 and 12 April, 2013, has attained the recognition of the International Basketball Federation. This recognition is a step in the right direction towards making Abu Dhabi a key destination for sports events and exhibitions in the region.
For her part, Nada Khamees, Manager of ADISE 2013 highlighted the exhibition’s strategy which aims to position this event as one of the biggest sports shows in the region by attracting the largest number of visitors and local and international exhibitors which will enable it to transform itself from a mere exhibition to a unique platform to promote a sports culture, enable the dialogue and exchange of knowledge and expertise and to finalise agreements between all parties working in the sports sector. Nada Khamees added: “This exhibition is a reflection of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 Vision and the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to turn Abu Dhabi into the leading destination for the organisation of sports exhibitions and world championships as well as to create a firm foothold for the UAE on the world’s sports map.’
Tony Moubarak, General Coordinator of ADISE 2013, mentioned that this global sporting event will bring together in its panel discussions, taking place over the four days of the exhibition, the most important decision makers in the sports field and the most prominent professional athletes in the world. These leading figures will come together to discuss a variety of educational and sports topics. In addition, he emphasised that the exhibition will host about 70 sports teams and more than 300 athletes to participate in various internal and external sports activities and events that will be held on an area of 5000 square meters. This will provide the opportunity for visitors to experience bungee jumping, mountain biking, wall climbing in addition to playing cricket.
