A unique double-bill will commemorate Abu Dhabi Festival’s 10th anniversary on March 26th when ‘Poème Orientale’ the latest masterpiece by acclaimed Franco-Lebanese composer and poet, Bechara El Khoury, ‘Poème Orientale’ is performed by the Czech Philharmonic alongside one of the most exhilarating repertoires the Festival has ever seen by the Grammy, Classical Brit and Gramophone Award winner, Bryn Terfel.

The Abu Dhabi Festival Commission is El Khoury’s latest creation and marks an exciting new addition to the library of works by Arab composers. Described as a committed new voice and a fascinating composer, Bechara is a citizen of the world who sends a humanistic message of peace, love and hope through his work. His symphonic creations has been performed across the world, from Carnegie Hall and the Barbican to the Cairo Opera House, and by leading orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of France.

The final chords of the 10th Anniversary Festival Gala however will remain with the world’s finest bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, accompanied by the powerful Russian soprano Victoria Yastrebova. Praised by critics and audiences around the world for his charismatic performances, Bryn shall blend Broadway with Puccini, Bernstein with Mozart and Gershwin with Wagner in an extraordinary evening of beloved arias and popular favourites. Famed for his portrayals of Figaro, Falstaff and Wotan, Bryn Terfel is sure to lift the Festival audience to their feet and leave them craving for more.
