Al Ain Zoo presents visitors with an exciting programme of events and activities in celebration of the 41st UAE National Day. Visitors can also learn about the core of the UAE’s heritage with Arabian wildlife and traditional cultural proceedings at the zoo’s heritage village during the festivities from Thursday 29 November until Monday 3 December.
A stage at Al Ain Zoo’s heritage village will host a variety of traditional Arabic dance performances such as Harbiya and Ayala. Colourful parrot shows and a falconry presentation will be shown on stage, while a selection of unique artefacts from the Al Ain National Museum will be on display to inspire national pride. Al Ain Zoo is also proud to welcome the Al Ain Police as they participate in the traditional national parade on 2 December.
Visitors can witness local food cooking demonstrations and enjoy traditional handicrafts and creative experiences with henna art. For more animal encounters, children are invited to get up close to furry and feathered friends at Elezba, visit the Cat House to see one of the world’s largest big cat collections, or partake in the magnificent giraffe feeding experience.
Families can indulge in quality time to celebrate this special holiday with a picnic on Al Ain Zoo’s beautifully manicured lawns. Alternatively, families can grab a quick snack and cool drink while exploring the zoo, or enjoy a delicious meal at the Zarafa Café or the kiosks conveniently located throughout the zoo.
On this special occasion, Al Ain Zoo will also provide one additional morning Bird Show on Friday 30 November, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December, with the regular evening show continuing as scheduled.
The zoo welcomes visitors during regular hours from 9:00am to 8:00pm daily.
