Exhibitors Showcase The Latest Date Inspired Products At Emirates International Date Palm Festival
(28 November 2012)

Visitors during the sixth annual Emirates International Date Palm Festival will not only enjoy a fun filled family event, but also have the opportunity to try some of the latest date related products in the region.

Mr. Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the Festival and ADFCA Official Spokesperson, said: “All of the exhibitors are showcasing some of the best varieties of date fruit and date related products to suit any craving. Each product is unique and the date palm festival is the ideal location to have a memory of tasting your next favourite date product”

Al Ain Dairy is currently exhibiting its range of soon to be launched camel milk ice-cream that comes in six flavours: dates, saffron, chocolate, cardamom, caramel and vanilla. This entire ice cream range will be launched in the UAE within the next six months.

Al Foah, the region’s largest date manufacturing company, known for several of its products including its date fruit inspired Bisr Juice and Zedina Energy Drink, launched two new products in 2012 – Date Halwa and Frozen Rutab.

Mohammad Ghanem, Deputy General Manager for Al Foah, said: “Date Halwa is the latest item we have included into our product offering. This is healthier than the traditional form of halwa because it is made from dates. We also offer this product in three flavours: cardamom, saffron and both cardamom and saffron. We also have the Date Halwa in organic form without compromising on the flavours.

“The other product that we are introducing is called Frozen Rutab. Rutab comes during the normal season, however we keep it in the fridge and consume it throughout the year whilst keeping the same taste.”

Furthermore, Dates and Wheat, a company that launched two years ago with only one store in Fujairah, produces some the best tasting blend of biscuits and dates. The company, in 2012 launched its new product called ‘Mammol’ which is a delicious sesame seed biscuit that has a mouth-watering date fruit filling.

Organised by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, supported by the Date Palm Friends Society, and sponsored by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the date palm festival is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA).

Emirates International Date Palm Festival is currently being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi and will end on 1 December 2012.
