The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi has rolled out a one-month campaign that accords a serial number to waste bins with a capacity of 1.1 Cubic Meter.
Beginning from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain city, it will also cover the Western Region. The campaign aims to number approximately 30,000 bins in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Faris Al Mazroui, Head of Inspection and Licensing Department, Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi, said: “The campaign is in line with our efforts to engage the community in ensuring the cleanliness of Abu Dhabi, through actively working against violations in disposing waste outside of assigned places. The process will additionally facilitate direct and timely interaction between the community and the Center of Waste Management.
“While reporting an offence, via any of the available communication channels, mentioning the number of the bin and describing the violation will help us to take immediate action. We invite the residents of Abu Dhabi to join hands with us in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of our city.”
Hadef Al Mansouri, Branch Manager - Al Ain, Centre of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi, said: “Our initiatives aim to raise awareness, promote a sustainable culture and highlight the implementation of conducive practices. The new campaign will allow us to manage complaints from the community in a timely manner. Following the launch of this campaign, we will execute public surveys to measure opinion on the effectiveness of our services and our performance in responding to the community’s concerns.”
The Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi envisions the development of sustainable practices in waste management across all sectors in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with relevant authorities.
