Members of Sorouh’s management team were on site by 8.30pm and officers from Abu Dhabi Civil Defense arrived before 9pm. The affected area was cordoned off and residents were evacuated to the entrance of the development, where they were informed that they would be moved to nearby hotels by bus during the course of the evening.
The facility management team conducted a roll call of residents by telephone and in person, and ensured that gas, electricity and water were disconnected to apartment blocks in the affected zone.
