On the occasion of Eid Al Adha, Al Ain Zoo announced today an exciting array of performances and activities to make each visitor’s zoo experience over the holidays truly unforgettable. The animals are growing more and more active with October’s dropping temperatures, making Eid Al Adha the ideal time to experience the zoo.
Visitors can enjoy these events throughout all days of the Eid holiday – from 26 to 28 October – and with extended hours, open from 10am to 10pm daily. Regular opening hours from 9am to 8pm will resume after the Eid holidays on 29 October.
The array of performances and activities on offer make a fun-packed holiday for friends and family alike. Al Ain Zoo will be showcasing dance performances to pay homage to the diverse cultures that its animals hail from, including the Emirati Al Harbia and the Dabka, an energetic Indian dance, and also traditional African dances. A captivating fire show performance promises to fascinate audiences, while guests can also enjoy the eagle and falcon presentations, bird and parrot shows, photo opportunities with parrots, Ahlan services, and more.
With the weather cooling, the beautiful and diverse collection of animals grows increasingly active and energetic, including the newborns of 2012. Al Ain Zoo welcomed a number of newborns to its family this year, including White Rhinoceros, Zebra, Rhim Ghazelle, Chital, Scimitar-Horned Oryx, Addax, and also recently unveiled a new Hippopotamus exhibit. Families and animal lovers can continue enjoying the Al Ain Zoo’s year-round highlights throughout Eid: the Elezba children’s farm, which allows children to get up-close with their favorite animals, and the Giraffe Feeding, which offers a uniquely interactive wildlife experience.
Commenting on the Eid festivities, Fatima Al Zaabi, Operations Manager at Al Ain Zoo said:
“Al Ain Zoo is a family destination that is dedicated to conservation and to educating the public with entertaining yet informative activities. We look forward to welcoming guests to celebrate Eid in the striking, natural environment of the zoo. We have been actively preparing our programmes and services in order to provide the best possible guest experience, and are confident that they will prove to be both enjoyable and enriching for guests of all ages.”
For those with an appetite, Al Ain Zoo’s completely refurbished Zarafa Café welcomes guests with a wide selection of choices that can be enjoyed in the air-conditioned restaurant – or at picnic tables to keep a closer eye on the animals! With an array of exciting experiences on offer for Eid Al Adha, guests are encouraged to purchase Eid tickets in advance at the zoo’s ticket windows to ensure direct entrance to the zoo and to avoid long queues.
