As part of this six-month programme, 20 female UAE Nationals from Abu Dhabi will participate in a customised training course to enhance their skills and knowledge of the banking industry. 

 

Today’s announcement follows the induction last month of 20 female UAE Nationals from Dubai who are also taking part in DIB’s Emarati Programme, a key component of the bank’s long-term strategy to meet its ambitious Emiratisation targets.

 

“For decades, Dubai Islamic Bank has taken an extremely active role in supporting the professional education and aspirations of the UAE local community, including the many bright, hardworking young women who continue to excel in all walks of life,” said Maryam Abdullah, Graduate Development Programs Manager, DIB. “Continuing this proud tradition, we are pleased to launch the latest edition of the Emarati Programme in Abu Dhabi, which will provide 20 Emarati women with the skills they need to achieve success in the rapidly expanding Islamic finance industry”

 

Established in 2004, the Emarati Programme commences with theoretical training at DIB’s Learning and Development Centre – covering the principles of Islamic finance, Sharia-compliant products, bank policies and procedures, and customer service. This year’s participants will then move on to four months of practical training in various bank departments and branches, with a special focus on close coaching and mentoring. 

 

Upon the successful completion of the course, graduates will be offered full-time positions at the bank.
