The committee of GCC Accounting and Auditing Organisation (GCCAAO) held a meeting on 5 - 6 September in Riyadh to discuss the uniform Accounting & Auditing law. H.E Mohammed Al Obeilan, GCCAAO’s Board Chairman, Dr. Abdul Karim Al Zarouni, GCCAAO’s Deputy Chairman and NBAD’s Group Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Dr. Mohammed Al Abbas, GCCAAO’s Executive Manager attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the proposed amendments to the system of accounting and auditing profession practices aiming to formulate a unified system which governs the accounting and auditing practices as well as the activities of the firms operating in the field of accounting. The proposed law aims to enhance the economic developments in the GCC countries and thus promotes the adoption of a uniform system for accounting and auditing practices.
