H.E. Dr. Juan Salem Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs, received Pierre Mourlevant, the French Economic & Financial Counsellor for the Middle East, to discuss economic bilateral relations.

Mr. Mourlevant participated in a discussion with H.E. Dr. Al Dhaheri regarding the current plans and activities of the Department of Municipal Affairs in the development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

"France is a strategic economic partner to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Key French companies are investing and operating within all economic sectors in the Emirate. We are looking to further enhance our relationship and continue to attract investors, tourists, and French companies who are eager to play a significant role in the development of Abu Dhabi," said H.E. Dr. Al Dhaheri.

"The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is forecasting exponential growth over the next ten years. This development is in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and will impact the city of Abu Dhabi as well as all surrounding regions. In order to fully realise this vision, Abu Dhabi needs the experience and knowledge that French investors and contractors are bringing to the UAE. Specifically in the areas of electricity, water, infrastructure and sustainability," explained H.E. Dr. Al Dhaheri.

"The DMA and three municipalities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are always willing to facilitate organisations that wish to participate in Abu Dhabi’s sustainable development," he added.

Mr. Mourlevant expressed his appreciation of the rapid expansion that Abu Dhabi is currently undergoing in all sectors. He assured H.E. Dr. Al Dhaheri of the commitment and willingness of leading French companies and investors to enhance their presence in the Emirate and to contribute to sustainable development process.

At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E Dr. Al Dhaheri presented Mr. Mourlevant with a book about the life of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
