The date is set for the year’s most glamorous sporting celebration, with stars from the worlds of sport, film, music and fashion set to light up the red carpet.

The Chequered Flag Ball, Abu Dhabi’s most sought after sporting occasion is now into its fourth year and is set to take place at the St Regis Hotel Saadiyat Island Resort on Friday November 2.

Tickets are now officially on sale and rumours are circulating about which celebrity guests will be in attendance for this year’s event.

Previous events have welcomed stars such as former F1 personalities Eddie Jordan and David Coultard, tennis star Boris Becker, British actor Hugh Grant, soul diva Mica Paris and British television celebrities Kirsty Gallacher and Kelly Brook.

Organisers today announced that former F1 team supremo Eddie Jordan and his band Eddie & the Robbers will be back by popular demand, to keep the party going late into the night.

Tammy Urwin, Director of Urban Events the company behind the ball said: “With this event into its fourth year now we are really excited about making it bigger and better than the previous ones.

“It’s been a thrilling F1 season and everyone in the UAE is excited about this year’s F1 as are many of the motorsport-loving stars that we deal with on a regular basis.

“Anyone who really wants to rub shoulders with the glitterati this at this year’s grand prix should go out and grab their ticket today. We are very close to confirming some incredible attendees.”

With headline performers and star attendances soon to be announced, fans are being urged to snap up tickets to the black-tie event.
